Barbara Mahler - The Whispering Pages
This solo is full of idiosyncratic
phrasing, strong spatial statements, lush and extended movements.
The choreography creates pages upon which the viewer, the audience, can place or „write“ their own story. There is an ephemeral and vapor-like quality to the dance, the way thoughts, images, and perceptions swirl around in one's head. This dance is symbolic of the absolute transience of a moment in time.This dance was created, in part, with funding from the Brittingham Fund in conjunction with a residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Space Grant from the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center.

Sebastian Prantls Tanzarbeit beruht auf dem stets neu zu formulierenden Anliegen Zeit und Raum nachhaltigen Ausdruck zu verleihen und trifft somit den Terminus „real time composition“ in mannigfaltiger Weise.
Dieser Versuch manifestiert sich sowohl in solistischer Arbeit, aber auch im dialoghaften Netzwerk der Ensemblearbeit. |
